Clinical Experience

Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation: I am working since more than 5 months at Bhagwati Hospital as Registrar which is at the level of senior Registrar in UK. I managed emergency trauma with upfront leadership and was supervised by Consultants. This was extremely busy unit with approximate fracture emergency of 1 fracture per hour from simple closed fractures to compound fractures and Traumatic amputations with multisystem involvement. This metro city public tertiary level hospital was referral centre for complicated, difficult and poorly managed cases arising from numerous district, community and private hospital within the city and at the outskirts of the city limits. This has provided me the most unique and valuable opportunity in developing skills and competency in the management of wide variety of Orthopaedic cases like Pelvi-acetabular fractures, Non unions ,Malunions ,neglected fractures ,Paediatric Orthopaedics and trauma, Knee and fracture dislocations and Multi-ligamentous injuries . Hence, I can provide ‘safe care’ with minimum or no supervision. I am also competent in doing all conventional and advanced orthopaedic surgeries (MIPO), tendon release and tendon transfers, soft tissue releases and surgeries.

At Sancheti institute I worked as Assistant lecturer/Junior consultant in Arthoplasty and Arthroscopy unit with Dr Sancheti. This institute has a separate Arthroplasty and Arthroscopy set up with four highly equipped Operation theatres having modern and advanced amenities in arthroscopy and arthroplasty(e.g. CANS – Computer Assisted Navigation system for arthroplasty). Here I performed good amount of surgeries and did diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopy procedures as well; individually as well as under supervision. This unit performed daily on an average 6 – 8 arthroplasty surgeries(including Total hip and knee replacement, hemiarthroplasty, revision knee and hip arthroplasties) and 3 – 4 arthroscopy surgeries(including diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopies ;ACl and PCL reconstruction, Meniscal repairs and meniscectomy, chondral injuries). This unit had daily Outpatient clinic in the evening where on an average 40 patients were examined and managed.
