ACADEMIC AND EMDR-SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.A. (Clinical Psychology): Was awarded with the degree of Master of Arts in Psychology by Mumbai University, India in June 2010.
  • B.A. (Psychology): Was awarded with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology by Mumbai University, India in June 2008.
  • EMDR Trainer: Has attended EMDR Basic trainer’s training, held in April 2017, at Shanghai, China, and ain January 2020, at Bangkok, Thailand. The training was conducted by Dr Derek Farrell, Dr Rosalie Thomas, Dr Masaya Icchi, Dr Sushma Mehrotra, and Dr Garry Quinn. Along with the team, he has conducted EMDR basic training across various cities in India and in Nepal and Afghanistan.
  • EMDR Facilitator and Consultant: Has been participating in EMDR part-1 and Part-2 trainings, held by EMDR Association India in collaboration with EMDR Trauma Recovery (HAP), as a facilitator supervising the practicum of the trainees, since 2014. He has been hosting the five-hours consultations and facilitating the same after trainings.
  • EMDR Practitioner: Has completed both the two-parts trainings (2013) in the therapeutic technique of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, certified by EMDR Trauma Recovery (HAP – USA).
  • NLP Practitioner: Has completed Master Practitioner’s course in the therapeutic technique of Neuro Linguistic Programming (Psychology), certified by Dr William Horton’s Institute, U.S.
  • EFT Practitioner: Has completed Advanced Practitioner’s course in Emotional Freedom Technique, conducted by Ameeta Shah, with the syllabus by Dr Garry Creig.

WORK EXPERIENCE IN EMDR

  • Has been presented with memento of appreciation for the training conducted in EMDR for mental health professionals of Afghanistan at Kabul, Afghanistan.
  • Has been awarded with certificate of appreciation for extending and promoting EMDR therapy in Asia, by Trauma Recovery (HAP) Asia, at EMDRIA 2018, Atlanta GA USA.
  • Has been presented with letter of acknowledgement by WHO Nepal for conducting training in EMDR for mental health professionals of Nepal at Nepal, Kathmandu.
  • Being an EC member of EMDR association India, he co-ordinates training and intervention programs, he prepares reports of trainings held at various places, compiles and edits the Annual report of the association, co-ordinates the consultations, conferences, and other programs working collaboratively with other EC members, life members, and participants of the programs. He manages the website of the association and often communicates with people representing the association as an EC member.
  • Has conducted and presented his research papers: “Dealing with Anger issues and other Emotional Difficulties of orphan girls using EMDR” and “Efficacy of intervention through EMDR group protocol in reduction of trauma in school children: Comparison of SUDs score from initial to final stage” at National and international conferences in New Delhi, Mumbai; the recent one at 3rd EMDR Asia international conference, 2017 at Shanghai, China.
  • Has been conducting EMDR Basic trainings, both part-1 and part-2, held in Mumbai, Varanasi, and other places in India as a facilitator. He was also one of the facilitators for Basic EMDR part-1 (2016) and part-2 (2017) training in Kathmandu, Nepal, jointly organized by WHO, ACF, EMDR Trauma Recovery (HAP) and EMDR Association India.
  • Has been an active member as a fellow researcher and intervener in intervention and research project in Kashmir Valley, in April 2014 to intervene 4000 children from the valley affected by trauma of flood. He participated in planning and executing the intervention program using the EMDR group protocol developed by Ignacio Jarero.

OVERALL WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Runs private clinical practice in a poly-clinic setup (Apex Hospital, Borivali) offering various services in clinical psychology and psychotherapeutics since June 2011. He carries out various psychological assessment such as IQ, personality, clinical diagnostics, projective and non-projective tests, etc. He offers counselling and psychotherapy with the rich background of his training and experience in psychotherapy.
  • Has been working at Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. Manoj Bhatawdekar’s clinic and with Dr Parul Tank at Nimai Health Care as an in-house counsellor and clinical psychologist since April 2011 and April 2014, respectively. His responsibility is to obtain detailed psychosocial history and conduct mental status examination of the patients. He also conducts psychological assessment and provides psychotherapy.
  • Has been working at Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Andheri, as a counsellor/clinical psychologist since July 2010. He works closely with the family of the child with diabetes providing psychosocial support and individual counselling to the patient as well as care- givers. He, along with the team of mental health professionals, conducts workshops and interactive sessions addressing families with the topic of ‘living with diabetes’.
  • Has worked as a Consulting Psychologist at BARBHAYA – Home for Hindu Girls for three years. He developed an in-house counselling cell for the residents and staff addressing various issues related to mental health and wellbeing. He worked with the resident orphan girls, individually and on group level, addressing the issues of adjustment, academic and behavioural issues, trauma of poverty and loss of family, trauma of physical and sexual abuse, etc.
  • Runs a counselling cell for students and staff at SEA – Suvidya school of Environment and Architecture, Borivali, Mumbai. He heads the counselling cell for the student and staff establishing standards of ethical counselling services offered, conducting individual and group intervention programs, planning and executing effective stress management and wellbeing programs.
  • Has been working as a chief co-ordinator of co-curricular activities in Bhavan’s A.H. Wadia School, Andheri. Has been conceptualising and organizing workshops on personality development and enhancement for the primary and secondary school children since June 2009.
  • Has worked as a clinical psychologist in L.D. Clinic, LTMG Hospital (government teaching hospital), Sion, Mumbai. (9 months). His prime responsibility was to conduct psycho-educational assessment using various tests measuring IQ and assessing Learning Disorders and ADHD for the children.
  • Has worked, at REACH- a special school in Andheri, as a counsellor/ clinical psychologist for 2 years (part time – twice a week). He designed individual and group counselling programs for children with special needs using CBT, Behaviour modification, psychoeducation for parents and care-givers, etc.
  • Has worked as Teacher’s Assistant (TA) to train and supervise juniors for a year in the Department of applied Psychology, Mumbai University. His role was to supervise the students in their practicum sessions of psychological assessment and psychotherapy, preparing reports for the same, taking viva and exams of the students, etc.
